Black Veil Brides formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
How did Black Veil Brides start?
Black Veil Brides was formed by lead vocalist Andy Biersack, who was 16 years old at the time. Biersack had previously been the lead vocalist of a local band called The Children of the Revolution. He met guitarist Jake Pitts through MySpace, and the two of them began writing music together. They recruited bassist Ashley Purdy, drummer Christian "CC" Coma, and guitarist Jinxx to complete the lineup.
The band's name was inspired by the song "Black Veil Brides" by the English rock band The Dresden Dolls. Biersack explained the meaning behind the name in an interview, saying, "The black veil brides are the people who are always there for you, no matter what. They're the ones who will always support you, even when you're at your lowest. They're the ones who will always be there to pick you up when you fall."
Black Veil Brides released their debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, in 2010. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band has since released five more studio albums, with the most recent being The Phantom Tomorrow in 2021.
Black Veil Brides have become one of the most popular rock bands in the world, with a loyal following of fans who are known as the "BVB Army". The band is known for their elaborate costumes and makeup, as well as their high-energy live performances.
