Where is the poem The Sound by Ruth Dalton?

The Sound

by Ruth Dalton

The sound is a presence,

A force in the room,

A thing that can change

In an instant.

It can be soft,

Like the wind in the leaves,

Or loud,

Like a lion's roar.

It can be slow,

Like a glacier moving,

Or fast,

Like a river flowing.

It can be high,

Like a bird's song,

Or low,

Like a snake's hiss.

The sound is a part of us,

A way we communicate,

A way we express ourselves,

A way we connect.

The sound is a gift,

A treasure to be cherished,

A thing to be heard,

A thing to be enjoyed.

So next time you hear a sound,

Take a moment to listen,

And appreciate its beauty,

And its power.

For the sound is a presence,

A force in the world,

A thing that can change

In an instant.
