Magic cat is it a sad poem or funny at the end?

The Cat

This cat’s the strangest cat I know,

He walks around with his head hung low.

As sad and lonely as a cat can be,

He has a permanent frown, you see.

He never plays with other cats,

He just sits and stares and pats and pats

At his sad, sad eyes, oh so pitiful.

Why so full of sadness, mystical?

I once asked him what made him so sad,

His story was tragic, oh so bad.

He said his name was once Felix the Great,

But all of a sudden, a change in fate.

He tried to jump from a tree that was high,

He landed wrong, oh, what a cry!

He broke his leg and he hurt his back,

And now he forever wears that black.

I think of Felix quite a bit,

His sad expression, he can’t remit.

I always think I should cheer him up,

Give him a hug and fill his cup.

One day, I’ll tell that sad old cat

That inside him lives a happy cat.

I believe that cat still lurks inside,

Waiting to be loved and to confide.

So keep an eye out, my friends so true,

For Felix, the saddest cat that you

Will ever see in your whole entire life,

His sad expression, it cuts like a knife.
