List at least three kinds of repetition Emily Dickinson used and give an example each from one the four poems?

1. Anaphora: repetition of a word or phrase at the beginning of successive clauses or sentences.

Example from "Because I could not stop for Death":

>Because I could not stop for Death,

>He kindly stopped for me;

2. Parallelism: the use of similar grammatical structures in successive clauses or sentences.

Example from "I'm Nobody! Who are you?":

>I'm Nobody! Who are you?

>Are you — Nobody — too?

3. Repetition of sounds: the repetition of the same or similar sounds in close succession.

Example from "Hope" is the thing with feathers":

>Hope is the thing with feathers

>That perches in the soul

>And sings the tune without the words

>And never stops at all
