Who is reverend maclean in a river runs though it?

In " A River Runs Through It", Reverend Dr. Maclean is the main character's father. He is a Presbyterian minister who is passionate about fly-fishing and passing on his knowledge of the sport to his sons, Norman and Paul. He often takes his sons on fishing trips and uses these times to teach them about life, religion, and the importance of nature. Reverend Maclean is a kind and gentle man, but he is also strict and has high expectations for his sons. He wants them to be successful and to make the most of their lives.

Although Reverend Maclean is a respected member of the community, he faces his struggles. He deals with the death of his wife and the challenges of raising his sons on his own. Despite these difficulties, he remains dedicated to his faith and his family. He is a devoted father who loves his sons unconditionally and wants the best for them.
