Michael McIntyre was born on February 21, 1976 in London, England. He began performing stand-up comedy in 1998, after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a degree in English. McIntyre's first major break came in 2003 when he won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer.
In 2007, McIntyre began hosting his own comedy panel show on BBC One called "Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow." The show was a success and ran for five seasons. McIntyre also hosted the game show "The Wheel" from 2018 to 2021.
In addition to his television work, McIntyre has also had success with his live stand-up tours. He has performed sold-out shows at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the O2 Arena in London and Madison Square Garden in New York City.
