Who wrote Rapunzel?

The fairy tale "Rapunzel" is most famously attributed to the Brothers Grimm, specifically Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. They collected and published the story in their collection of folk tales, "Children's and Household Tales," in 1812.

However, it's important to note that the Brothers Grimm didn't invent the story. They were essentially "collectors" of folktales, meaning they gathered stories that were already being passed down orally through generations. The story of Rapunzel likely existed in various forms before the Grimms documented it.
