Was there a letter to romeo say that Juliet pretended be dead?

There is no letter in the original tragedy "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare to inform Romeo that Juliet has faked her death by taking a sleeping potion. Romeo finds out that Juliet is, in a manner, awake when Friar Lawrence explains all to him in Mantua in Act 5, Scene 2.
