Give too much of your love to an African poem?

Give Too Much of Your love

* * *

In the land of vibrant hues,

Where sunsets paint the sky with blues,

There lies a tale of love's embrace,

With depths that time can never trace.

Oh, Africa, your soil so rich,

Steeped in stories, bold and brisk,

Your heartbeats echo through my soul,

A symphony of tales untold.

Amidst the rhythm of your drum,

I found myself, all love become,

Too deep, too fervent, was the flame,

A passion I could not tame.

I poured my heart into your hands,

Unknowing of love's hidden sands,

It seemed so pure, a love so true,

But shadows lurked, I failed to view.

For in your eyes, I saw a gleam,

A flicker of a distant dream,

A quest for something yet to be,

A vision I could not foresee.

Oh, Africa, your spirit wild,

You left me yearning, and beguiled,

I gave my all, without restraint,

But did I truly understand?

Now, standing on the shores of doubt,

With broken wings, my spirit bowed,

I wonder, did I give too much,

Or was love meant to be so rough?

Oh, Africa, I hear your call,

Your pulse reverberates through me, still,

But scars remain, a gentle ache,

A tale of love I dared to break.

Through tears that cleanse, I find release,

And memories that bring bittersweet peace,

For love's lessons, though hard to bear,

Have set me free, to heal and repair.

So, to all hearts that dare to love,

With passion fierce and wings above,

Beware the sands that love may hide,

For true love's depth should not be denied.
