William Shakespeare was born in 1556 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England.

He was baptized on April 26, 1564, and is believed to have been born on or near that date. His father, John Shakespeare, was a glover and tanner, and his mother, Mary Arden, came from a wealthy family. Shakespeare had two older sisters and three younger brothers.

Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language.

He wrote plays, sonnets, and narrative poems. His plays include comedies, tragedies, and historical dramas. Some of his most famous plays include "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet", "Othello", and "Macbeth". His sonnets are a collection of 154 poems that explore themes of love, beauty, and time.
