Obtain your licensing books from a company called Pearson VUE . These are books on insurance law that allow you to study the minutiae of everyday insurance practice. Typically, they are broken down into life law, health law and accident law.
Study each book a section at a time. They are broken down into individual chapters, and each one has a review quiz at the end. Take the review quiz on paper. Each time you finish five chapters, have someone quiz you verbally on what you learned.
Contact an insurance licensing school in your state. In many states it is optional, but some require it. Typically, the requirement is 40 hours of classwork and a completed pre-test before you can take the state exam. Pearson VUE is the largest provider of exams and study materials.
