What does Faulkner say makes a good writing?

William Faulkner believed that good writing is the result of a combination of factors, including talent, hard work, and perseverance. He once said, "The only kind of writing that amounts to anything is the writing that is born out of experience, observation, and honest thinking." Faulkner also stressed the importance of technical proficiency and the mastery of language, saying, "In writing, as in all art, the craftsman is revealed in his style and the style itself can reveal the strength or weakness of the artist's vision."
