Why do scholars think Shakespeare might not have written his plays?

While some theories and discussions exist, the evidence overwhelmingly supports William Shakespeare as the author of his plays and sonnets. There is no strong scholarly consensus or substantial evidence to suggest that someone else wrote his works during the Elizabethan era. The attribution of his works to him is well-established and based on extensive historical, textual, and stylistic analysis.
