Who published First Folio and why?

John Heminges and Henry Condell, two of Shakespeare's fellow actors, published the First Folio in 1623. Their motivation for doing so was to preserve Shakespeare's plays, many of which had never been printed before and were at risk of being lost. The First Folio was a significant event in literary history, as it established Shakespeare as a literary giant and helped to popularize his work around the world.
