What has the author Xiaohang Liu written?

Xiaohang Liu (simplified Chinese: 刘晓航; traditional Chinese: 劉曉航; pinyin: Liú Xiǎoháng) is a Chinese-born Canadian writer and translator, best known for her novel *The Chinese Lady* (2008), which won several literary awards. Her book *The Man Who Made Banana Splits* (2014) was longlisted for the Giller Prize. She is also editor-in-chief of *Guernica: A Magazine of Art and Politics*.

Her fiction has appeared in *The New York Times*, *O. Henry Prizes: Stories*, *Glimmer Train*, *The Best American Short Stories*, and in 2012, *The New Yorker*.

Liu was born in China and grew up in both China and Canada. She studied at Tsinghua University and the University of British Columbia.

Liu co-founded the online community and print journal *The Fanzone*, which published 12 issues between 2003 and 2008. She has also worked as an editor at the *Columbia Journal of Literary Translation*.

Liu lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and son.
