What has the author Lionel Haines written?

Lionel Haines (1916–2002) was an English crime and suspense novelist. He wrote 25 novels, three short stories, and some radio plays and television scripts. He was best known for his series of crime novels featuring Inspector John Appleby of Scotland Yard who figured in 13 of Haines' novels, beginning with _"Death Over the Channel"_ in 1941, and ending with _"For the Life of Me"_ in 1977. Many of the Appleby novels were set largely or entirely overseas. Haines was a member of the Detection Club.
