Where in hamlet is the ghost confined when he not wandering?
The Ghost of King Hamlet is confined to Purgatory when he is not wandering the earth. Purgatory is a place of temporary punishment for souls who have died in a state of grace but still need to undergo purification before they can enter Heaven. In Hamlet, the Ghost tells Hamlet that he is "doomed for a certain term to walk the night" and that he cannot rest until his son avenges his murder.
