Harry Houdini was a famous Hungarian-American escape artist, illusionist, and stunt performer who performed death-defying stunts at the beginning of the 20th century.

Some of Houdini's most famous stunts included:

- Escaping from a straitjacket while suspended upside down from a crane.

- Escaping from a milk can filled with water while it was sealed shut and padlocked.

- Escaping from a Chinese water torture cell, where he was suspended upside down in a glass tank filled with water and had to escape before he ran out of air.

- Escaping from a buried alive box, where he was buried in a coffin six feet underground and had to escape before he ran out of air.

- Escaping from a locked bank vault.

Houdini was known for his elaborate and dangerous stunts, and he was considered to be one of the greatest escape artists of all time. He died on Halloween in 1926 after being punched in the abdomen by a student who was testing Houdini's claim that he could withstand any blow to the stomach.
