Instructions

  1. Instructions

    • 1

Read several Manga works to become familiar with the genre.

    • 2

Develop your character. The character you choose will help build the story. Is your character one that lights up a room when he enters or a quiet fellow who leads a secret life?

    • 3

Develop an outline for your Manga story based on your character. Put your idea down on paper and generate a short story overview and focus. Keep in mind this is the first story in what will hopefully become a series.

    • 4

Write your Manga script. Take the time necessary to write and edit the script until you are satisfied with the work.

    • 5

Illustrate the story or find a talented Manga artist to illustrate your story for you. Publishers often prefer scripts that are submitted with artwork. Search online or attend Manga conventions to find an artist that can bring your character to life. Ask the artist if he or she is willing to animate your story for submission to a publisher.

    • 6

Submit your animated Manga story to the publisher as directed in their writer’s guidelines. Be sure to send high-quality copies of the completed story and not the original artwork. Publishers may request that your submission contain story and character descriptions and artwork for at least one chapter of your story.
