What does the Harry Potter prequel say?

There isn't actually a Harry Potter prequel in the traditional sense, meaning a story that takes place before the events of the original series.

However, there are several related works that offer insight into the world before Harry's arrival:

* "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child": This play is technically a sequel set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts, but it does contain flashbacks to events that happened before Harry was born, especially focusing on the relationship between Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter.

* "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" series: This spin-off series focuses on Newt Scamander, a Magizoologist, and his adventures around the world decades before Harry's time. It explores the history of magic, the magical creatures, and the early days of the American wizarding community.

* "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald": This film reveals more about Albus Dumbledore's early days and his relationship with Gellert Grindelwald, a dark wizard who would become one of the main antagonists in the original series.

* "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone": The original book, while not technically a prequel, does feature some backstory about the magical world, including information about the creation of the Sorcerer's Stone, the rise of Voldemort, and the history of Hogwarts.

So, while there isn't a single prequel novel, these various works offer glimpses into the world of Harry Potter before the events of the main series.
