Who came with a idea of Sherlock Holmes?

The idea for Sherlock Holmes came from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He created the character and his world, including his famous detective skills, his sidekick Dr. Watson, and his nemesis, Professor Moriarty.

Doyle first introduced Sherlock Holmes in the short story "A Study in Scarlet", published in 1887.
