List of Majins in Dragon Ball

Majin is a character concept in the Dragon Ball Z series, a Japanese cartoon and comic book featuring highly powerful fighters. Majins were introduced in the last saga of the series, the Majin Buu saga. Babidi, an evil wizard, uses his mind control powers to turn several characters into Majins. Majins are largely evil in nature and have augmented powers beyond their original capabilities. Their mission is to find enough power to revive the ultimate Majin, Majin Buu.
  1. Yammy and Spopovich

    • Yammy and Spopovich are earthling fighters who Babidi uses to find significant power, or chi, sources on Earth. They were nonremarkable fighters prior to meeting Babidi. After Babidi's mind control spell, however, they are granted powers beyond that of a normal human, such as flight and physical endurance. They are successful in securing a significant power source but are subsequently betrayed and killed by Babidi for their efforts.

    Pui Pui and Yakon

    • Pui Pui and Yakon are the first two of Babidi's fighters to face Goku, the main protagonist, and his party. Pui Pui is a famed warrior in his home planet but is quickly killed by Vegeta, much to Babidi's surprise. Yakon is a significantly more powerful opponent compared to Pui Pui but is also quickly killed by Goku. This is particularly distressing to Babidi because he does not expect Earth fighters to demonstrate such fighting prowess and concludes that they pose a significant threat to his plans.

    Dabura

    • Dabura is Babidi's last and greatest lieutenant. Originally from Dragon Ball Z's version of hell, Dabura was already committing evil acts prior to meeting Babidi. Conversely, this makes him much more susceptible to Babidi's mind control powers. Babidi sends him to face Gohan to collect more energy from Gohan's body. The fight between the two is mostly even until Dabura discovers a weakness in Goku's team: Vegeta has evil thoughts still lingering inside him from his past. Dabura's discovery is instrumental for Babidi to control Vegeta's mind, turning him into Majin Vegeta.

    Vegeta

    • Vegeta is the sole member of Goku's team without a pure heart. He killed many innocent lives and destroyed civilian planets prior to meeting Goku during the first Dragon Ball Z saga. Babidi uses this to pit Vegeta against his team members. Babidi is successful in controlling Vegeta, but it is short-lived because Vegeta quickly breaks free of Babidi's mind control. Vegeta later reveals that he let Babidi control his mind after observing the mind control's side effect of increasing the person's strength. Despite being free from Babidi's control however, Vegeta uses his newfound powers to fight Goku in his long-awaited rematch from the first DBZ saga.

    Majin Buu

    • The energy coming from Goku and Vegeta's battle becomes sufficient in meeting the required energy level to revive Majin Buu. Majin Buu is a highly notorious monster that could destroy multiple planets with ease. After releasing Majin Buu's seal, Babidi orders Buu to destroy everyone within the immediate vicinity, including Gohan and Dabura. Majin Buu is mostly successful in doing so, turning Dabura into chocolate and eating him and beating Gohan into a half-dead state. Majin Buu is ultimately too powerful for Babidi's control and eventually turns on his master.
