What has the author Charles Moon Bennett written?

Charles Moon Bennett (born 1951) is an American astrophysicist and cosmologist. He is a professor of physics and astronomy at the Johns Hopkins University and the director of the Space Telescope Science Institute.

Bennett's research interests include the cosmic microwave background (CMB), the early universe, and galaxy formation. He is best known for his work on the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), a satellite that measured the CMB with unprecedented precision. The WMAP data provided strong support for the Big Bang model of the universe and allowed scientists to measure the universe's age, size, and shape with unprecedented precision.

Bennett has published over 300 scientific papers and has received numerous awards for his work, including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Wolf Prize in Physics, and the Kavli Prize in Astrophysics. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Royal Astronomical Society.
