Bennett's research interests include the cosmic microwave background (CMB), the early universe, and galaxy formation. He is best known for his work on the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), a satellite that measured the CMB with unprecedented precision. The WMAP data provided strong support for the Big Bang model of the universe and allowed scientists to measure the universe's age, size, and shape with unprecedented precision.
