Robert J. Seiwaid: Inventor And Engineer
He invented a portable X-ray fluoroscopy camera system that would help doctors in the field with real-time images of patient bones, organs and the circulatory system
Seiwaid received the American College of Surgeons Surgical Film Festival Grand prize for an early demonstration film. As of August 2015, the camera remained in production after more than three decades.
Also Seiwaid pioneered and patented:
-A digital video disk storage and retrieval technique
-A technique to record magnetic video and audio information directly onto the substrate layer of optical or compact disks as opposed to recording on conventional plastic coatings
