Joel was one of the twelve minor prophets of the Old Testament. His book, the Book of Joel, is the second shortest book in the Bible, consisting of only three chapters. Joel's prophecy is centered around a devastating locust plague that has come upon the land of Judah. He calls the people to repentance and warns them of the coming Day of the Lord, a time of judgment and restoration.
Abijah
Abijah was the son of King Rehoboam of Judah. He succeeded his father as king and reigned for three years. During his reign, he defeated the northern kingdom of Israel in a battle at Mount Zemaraim. Abijah is also known for his strong faith in God and his commitment to following the law of Moses.
Relationship between Joel and Abijah
The Book of Joel does not specifically mention Abijah, so there is no direct connection between the two individuals in the biblical text. However, some scholars believe that Joel may have been a contemporary of Abijah and that his prophecy may have been delivered during Abijah's reign. If this is the case, then Joel and Abijah would have been part of the same historical context and may have interacted with each other in some way.
