How did they come up with name?

The name "Google" originated from the mathematical term "googol," which represents the number 1 followed by one hundred zeros. The founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, initially named their search engine "BackRub," but they felt the name did not accurately reflect the magnitude of their mission to organize the world's information. In 1997, they decided to adopt the name "Google" as a representation of the immense scale and scope of their vision. The term "googol" was considered a suitable symbol for the vast amount of information that their search engine aimed to make accessible and searchable.
