What does the name titan means?
Titan (Τιτάν Titán) is a mythological giant god, who may be either a son or a grandson of Gaia, the Earth, thus making him part of an earlier pantheon which was overthrown by Zeus and the Olympian Gods. The Titans are known for their battles with Zeus and his siblings that make up what is known as Titanomachy and Gigantomachy. According to Plato's Timaeus, the Titans ruled the world before Zeus and the other gods.
The name Titan is thought to be derived from the Greek word titanos, which means "to stretch" or "to strain." This may refer to the Titans' great size and strength, or to their role in holding up the sky.
