When was parkour invented?

The exact origins of parkour are unclear, with various individuals and groups contributing to its development. However, the term "parkour" is generally attributed to French obstacle course racer David Belle, who, along with his friends and colleagues, began practicing and developing the discipline in the late 1980s and early 1990s in Lisses, a suburb of Paris, France. Belle's father, Raymond Belle, was a military obstacle course trainer, and David Belle and his friends were inspired by the military obstacle course training methods and the writings of Georges Hébert, who is considered the father of parkour.
