Close the torch adjustment valve on the side of the torch, and hold the nozzle away from you. Twist the valve on the propane tank to the left to open the flow of propane. Ignite the torch, and adjust the flame to 10-15 psi using the torch adjustment valve.
Open the flow of oxygen on the oxygen tank valve to 20 psi.
Hold the torch 6-8 inches from the metal, and run the flame across an area several inches long until you see the metal begin to puddle. If the metal is not being blown from the cut by the oxygen, slowly increase the flow to between 30 and 40 psi.
Continue moving the propane torch down a few inches at a time until it is cut. It may take several minutes for each new area to heat up and begin to melt.
