What does the drake jewel represent?

In Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, the Drake Jewel represented Guenever's virginity, a very precious, if intangible, gift to a husband. Guenever lost that jewel through an encounter with Sir Accolon of Gaul and so felt she could never face Arthur again to explain herself.
