Do African painted dogs have a natural enemy?

African painted dogs have few natural enemies in the wild due to their strength and cooperative hunting tactics. Lions are their primary predator though as the two occupy similar habitats and lions may kill painted dogs that encroach on their lands to feed. Leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, crocodiles, and certain large eagles may predate on puppies or the weak or straggling members of a pack.
