Do murals have to be painted?

Murals do not have to be painted as long as they remain fixed. Some famous examples includes mosaics such as The Great Temple of Petra located in Jordan. Others include graffiti works. The only criteria for any art pieces to be considered murals is its location, which are permanent surfaces of buildings.
