Open Microsoft Word. Click "File" then "New."
Look for "Templates" on the far left of the dialog that appears. Scroll through the choices and search for "Menu." If you do not see "Menu," scroll to the bottom and select "More templates." Under the heading "More templates" you should be able to find "Menu" under the "M"s (the list is alphabetical).
Click "Menu" and you should see the box fill up with items that you can browse through. By clicking each one, you can see an enlarged version of it to the right. Find one and click "Download" (on the bottom right).
Fill in information as you need to. You will find that when you click on any text, you can edit it. You can change the preset menu to what you want. You can change the font, color, background and most of the overall layout (you cannot change the size of the menu, which will be 9 by 12 unless your printer can produce larger documents).
Insert an image if you would like by selecting "Insert" then "Image." Select the an image and click "OK." You can change the size of the image by clicking it and moving it by one of the tiny blue squares that appear around it.
Save the menu when you have finished the design.
