Creative Trade Show Ideas

When selling or marketing your product at a trade show, there are plenty of ways to make your product or service stand out in a creative manner. The trick is to be original and fully utilize all options from the help of other vendors to handing out promotional items or discounts that attract customers to your product. Just keep in mind what attracts your target audience and how to implement it into your trade show display.
  1. Displays

    • Don't be afraid to use other artisans' crafts as decorative additions to your display. If you make jewelry racks, for instance, see if the jewelry seller a few booths down would like to use your rack to display their craft and vice-versa. Include a small hanging price tag or a price sticker on the bottom of products you may lend to other vendors. Promote your fellow craft makers' goods while trying to sell your own. They'll be appreciative of your idea and more likely to help you out in the future if you meet up at another show. Be creative and seek out those with unique crafts to pair up with.

    Marketing

    • No matter what it is you're selling or offering, have business cards made and ready to hand out to all customers. This allows your customers to take your information home and gives them a way to contact you if they need, say, a special order of your product in bulk. There's no need to purchase expensive cards; just grab cardstock and print out your own or visit your local copy shop to check out any deals they may have.

Pair your business cards with brochures if desired. Brochures allow you to give more information on your product as well as add any benefits and reasons your product stands out.

Business cards and brochures are both simple yet useful marketing strategies you can develop from your own home. They're inexpensive and can help you move your items and increase business.

    Promoting

    • Offer special coupons and discounts to your trade show consumers. If you offer certain items at a discount, and they enjoy your product, they will come back for more. You can also have a raffle, combine your items with other popular items and brands, make a few baskets and auction them off. It will draw attention to your booth, and more people will see your product. Give out samples, small gifts (think party favors) and candy. During demonstrations, offer special giveaways or discounts to members of the audience willing to participate.
