The organization was founded in 1888 and partners with the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, which is where the national headquarters are and 40 annual AAU events are held. The complex in Orlando includes a baseball stadium, fieldhouse with six basketball courts, track and field complex, soccer arena and softball field.
Educational organizations that fall under a non-profit organization include public schools, colleges and universities. Schools use money from the government, tuition and donations to improve facilities, compensate teachers and administrators, and provide amenities for students. Other educational organizations that provide services to children and adults include zoos and museums.
Artistic organizations may include regional theaters, symphonies, opera houses and orchestras. These organizations provide entertainment and cultural enrichment to individuals and communities. Profits used from ticket sales and donations from members allow traveling theatrical shows and musical acts to perform and entertain patrons in a local venue.
