Think about getting your teen artist art supplies to practice his craft. These supplies can get pricey, and if a teen doesn't have a job, he may find it difficult to save up for the materials he needs. If you don't know the exact products he needs, give a gift certificate to the art store. Letting him choose his preferred products is better than purchasing the wrong product and having it sit around unused.
Sign your teen artist up for an art class at a local recreation center, community college or art school. Your teen may not have access to the equipment she requires---especially if she works with clay for potting ceramics---and signing her up for a class can give her time and a location to practice her craft.
Take your teen to a local art museum. Most large cities have at least one art museum, and you can look for galleries that show work by the teen's favorite artists. Some artists' shows travel around the world, so if you hear of a show coming to your area, make sure to purchase tickets as a gift.
Take your teen artist to speak to owners and exhibitors at local art galleries and stores. He can pick the artist's brain for advice on where to go to school, how to make it as an artist and possibly what to study. Just make sure to schedule your visit with the artist in advance, rather than just dropping by.
