Open a plastic egg and paint it with gold paint. Use primer first to make the paint stick. Put the egg back together and use a hot glue gun to stick it to an egg stand. Glue a gold or silver ribbon across the middle of the egg. Take jewels of brilliant colors and glue them around the egg, starting from where the egg and the egg stands meet. Before gluing on the jewels, you could use a pencil to mark where you would like the jewels to go.
Use a primer on each of the eggs. Layer burgundy and copper spray paints, topped with a clear lacquer to achieve the look of traditional Russian faberge eggs. Using a hot glue gun or strong glue, place small rhinestones on the egg with a pair of tweezers to prevent it from breaking. Take a long needle and thread a thin hanging cord through the top half of the egg before you close it. Take this thread and loop it around so you can hang it up.
Stick three toothpicks in a foam egg to make a stand. Paint a thin layer of tacky glue on the egg. Sprinkle on a layer of glitter in whichever color you choose. Add gemstones and jewels if you desire. Use a 6-inch piece of pipe cleaner to form a circle. Fold three more of these sized pipe cleaners in half around a pencil, twist the two halves together and leave a little bit lose at the ends. Put these pipe cleaners together and stand your egg up in them.
Try a technique for faberge eggs that is a little bit different than the traditional model. Spray paint eggs black. You can use real faberge eggs or plastic ones for faux faberge eggs. The faberge is about the material of the egg, but also the way in which you decorate it. Glue glitter onto the eggs. Use a clear coat to make the glitter stayed sealed in. You could even line the eggs with fabric and put a little treat inside them.
