Why do we study art?

Studying art and the humanities gives people the ability to critically evaluate and produce work, think creatively and solve problems, and communicate effectively. The visual and performing arts are not hobbies to while away leisure hours, but rather integral parts of people’s lives that can make a positive impact on them.
