What is thin shoot?
Thin shoot (Lepiota acerina) is a small woodland mushroom. It is pale or yellowish-brown, with a smooth, satiny cap. It contains two toxins: the neurotoxin, muscarine, and a gastrointestinal toxin. Poisoning symptoms will come on within 15-30 minutes of consumption and include abdominal cramps, nausea, and diarrhea. There may also be sweating and a drop in blood pressure. In addition, some people who consume Thin Shoots experience respiratory problems. Because of its small size, it could easily be mistaken for a younger edible, such as Clitocybe odora, which it can resemble.
