Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts offers a wide variety of undergraduate degrees, including BA degrees in art history, cinema, fashion merchandising, music, or theatre, and BFA degrees in art education, communication arts, craft/material studies, dance and choreography, fashion design, film, graphic design, interior design, kinetic imaging, painting and printmaking, photography, sculpture, or theatre. First year undergraduates planning to enter art education, communication arts, craft/material studies, fashion design, graphic design, interior design, kinetic imaging, painting and printmaking, photography and film, and sculpture + extended media must complete the Art Foundation Program.
University of Florida’s College of Fine Arts houses the School of Art and Art History, as well as the School of Music and the School of Theatre and Dance. The School of Art and Art History offers undergraduate (BA and BFA) and graduate (MFA) degrees. You can study art education, art history, ceramics, creative photography, digital media, drawing, graphic design, museum studies, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and visual art studies.
Florida State University’s Department of Art, located within the School of Art and Design, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. All undergraduate students must complete an interdisciplinary Foundations Program before selecting an area of concentration. Possible concentrations include ceramics, design, drawing and painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Students can choose to work towards a BA or a BFA in studio art or design.
University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Undergraduates can work towards an AB degree in art education and art history, or a BFA degree in art education or studio art. Studio concentrations include ceramics, drawing and painting, fabric design, graphic design, interior design, jewelry and metalwork, photography, printmaking, scientific illustration, sculpture, and “Art X: Expanded Forms.”
Savannah College of Art and Design contains Schools of Building Arts, Communication Arts, Design, Fashion, Film, Digital Media and Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Foundation Studies, and Liberal Arts. The School of Fine Arts offers majors in painting, printmaking, photography, and sculpture, and minors in ceramic arts, painting, photography, portrait arts, printmaking, and sculpture. SCAD has locations in Savannah, Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Lacoste.
