What is an Alouette?

Alouette is a French word meaning "little skylark". It can refer to several things:

* The Alouette helicopter: A series of light utility helicopters produced by the French company Sud Aviation. The first Alouette helicopter, the Alouette II, was introduced in 1955 and was widely used by military and civilian operators around the world.

* The Alouette satellite: A series of Canadian scientific satellites launched in the 1960s and 1970s. The Alouette satellites were designed to study the Earth's atmosphere and ionosphere.

* The Alouette cheese: A type of soft, mild cheese produced in the province of Quebec, Canada. Alouette cheese is often used in salads, sandwiches, and other dishes.

* The Alouette River: A river in British Columbia, Canada. The Alouette River flows from the Coast Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
