What are grave goods?

Grave goods are objects that are buried with a deceased person. The practice of burying grave goods is found in many cultures around the world, and has been practiced for thousands of years. Grave goods can include a wide variety of items, such as food, clothing, jewelry, weapons, and tools. They may be placed in the grave for a number of reasons, including:

- To provide the deceased with items they may need in the afterlife.

- To symbolize the deceased's status or wealth.

- To protect the deceased from evil spirits.

- To honor the deceased and show respect for their memory.

The practice of burying grave goods is still practiced in some cultures today, although it is becoming less common. In some cases, grave goods may be buried with the deceased in a traditional manner, while in other cases they may be placed in a separate location.
