How to Dispose of Tempera Paint
Tempera paint, often called poster paint by manufacturers, is a popular staple in elementary school classrooms because it's inexpensive and easy to clean up. Unlike hazardous oil-based paints that have to be carefully discarded or recycled in municipal sanitation centers, tempera is water-soluble, making it safe to dispose of at home.
