Displaying Art on Plywood

Displaying art without buying expensive frames is difficult. If the art is on paper it can easily be crumpled or torn. Paint can also be scratched from canvases if they are not properly displayed. One answer to this problem is using plywood as a display. The plywood can be hung or propped anywhere there is room and it provides a sturdy support for the art.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Spray paint the plywood and bulldog clips. Let them dry before continuing.

    • 2

Place the sawtooth hanger 2 inches from the top center of the plywood.

    • 3

Attach the sawtooth hanger to the plywood by hammering brads through the holes on either side of the hanger into the plywood. This hanger will allow you to hang the plywood on a nail.

    • 4

Turn the plywood over so that the hanger is against your work surface.

    • 5

Lay the artwork onto the plywood so that the top edge of the art work is flush with the top edge of the plywood.

    • 6

Clamp the art to the plywood using the bulldog clips. These clips have a smooth edge that won't damage the art.
