How I have an Olympus e-500 and need a memory card for it. already taken many pictures with the camera was wondering if insert this will lose all of my pictures?

Inserting a new memory card into your Olympus E-500 will not erase any existing pictures stored on the camera's internal memory.

Here's why:

* Separate storage: Your Olympus E-500 likely has internal memory for storing pictures. The memory card is an additional storage option.

* Data transfer: When you insert a new memory card, the camera will typically ask you if you want to format it. Formatting erases the card's contents, but not the internal memory of the camera.

* Picture location: Pictures taken with the camera are usually stored on the currently inserted memory card. If you want to save them to the internal memory, you'll need to transfer them manually through the camera's menu.

To avoid losing your pictures:

1. Check your camera's menu: Look for settings related to "memory card," "internal memory," or "storage." This will tell you where your pictures are currently saved.

2. Format only the new card: If you need to format the new card, make sure you choose the "Format" option for the card only. This will not affect the camera's internal memory.

3. Backup your pictures: To be absolutely safe, you can always back up your pictures to a computer or external hard drive.

Enjoy your new memory card and keep taking great pictures!
