The plain plastic charger plates need to be large enough for the dinnerware to fit on them. When the charger is placed beneath the largest main course dinner plate, at least 2 to 3 inches around the entire circumference of the charger should be visible.
Spray-paint the charger plate with gold or silver-tone spray paint. Apply one coat of paint first and let dry. If needed, apply a second coat of paint to get the desired color. Repeat with all the charger plates and lay them in an airy place to dry completely.
Arrange flat stones and faux pearls on the rim of a charger plate in alternating lines or use both stones and pearls alternating in each line. You can form one to three decorative linear designs on the charger as desired.
Glue the stones and faux pearls onto the charger using a glue gun.
Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each additional charger plate.
